Worimi, Biripi and Wonnarua Country, Hunter and Mid Coast, NSW
The training is focused on the Hunter and Mid Coast regions, home of the Biripi, Worimi and Wonnarua First Nations. We pay our respects to these Nations and their elders past, present and emerging.
The training venue is on Worimi country. Worimi country extends from Port Stephens in the south to Forster/Tuncurry in the north and as far west as Gloucester. The Worimi are made up of several tribes; Buraigal, Gamipingal and the Garawerrigal. The people of the Wallis Lake area are called Wallamba.
The venue is the Palms Pavilion at Tiona Holiday Park, 15 minutes from Forster. The park is nestled between the white sands of Seven Mile Beach, the cabbage tree palm-studded shores of Wallis Lake, and the spectacular Booti Booti National Park. We are grateful to have such a beautiful landscape to connect to during the training.
