Fiona Malcolm
I am a passionate social worker, artist and Art of Hosting and Harvesting practitioner. I have a great love of harvesting and can usually be found with my collection of markers interpreting the golden threads of conversations.
I live on Jagera land in Meanjin (Brisbane), but my heart country is Gubbi Gubbi land on the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Glass House Mountains where my family is. I have 20 years experience working across government and community/social services sectors in diverse spaces, from direct practice, program development and policy/research. Art of Hosting practice has invited me to bring my whole self to my work, challenged me, given me a strong foundation in which to grow both as a human and as a practitioner. I am always excited to share the possibility and curiosity with others through a training. |
Jane GeltchI am a participatory process host, and steward of the Art of Hosting and Harvesting Conversations that Matter. Art of Hosting is for me a profound practice that has added richness, depth and meaning to my work and life.
My work is in compassionate support of and care for Life as we move through extraordinary times. This often takes the form of hosting people in complex, sometimes conflictual, situations to have respectful conversation and take wise action together. My practices support me to return to the presence and grounded-ness I need to show up well. I am excited to be hosting those who show up to the training with this wonderful team on this magnificent country. |
Steve RymanI am a long time practitioner of participatory processes. For many years, I worked in a healthcare organisation where we were collectively learning how to collaborate without patterns of hierarchy and power-over.
After my professional career, I spent eight years as a global nomad, traveling where I was invited and where I could be of service, usually as a host and steward of the Art of Hosting. The course of my journey was radically changed by Covid as I was called from the global into a local focus on stewarding a piece of remote forest land, and the stewarding of new grandchildren. Recently, I am grateful for a rhythm that combines my global and local stewarding as I live alone with the trees for most of the year. and travel to support global hosting practitioners the rest. The common denominator in all of this is the practice of learning to live and work in support of life and consciousness. I am excited to return to Australia and be in this learning with you. |
Mark SpainI seek to collaborate with others to bring humanity and nature back into balance and harmony.
I grew up in the Snowy Mountains, Australia and love expeditions and experiences in nature. I believe we need more opportunities for simple and profound experiences to re-imagine our relationship with nature, each other and ourselves for a healthy, thriving future. I am a senior partner and facilitator at Global Learning (https://globallearning.com.au), a Canberra based consulting firm that works around Australia building dynamic and authentic leaders and teams in business, government and community organisations. My work is focused on transforming Business, Society, and Self – building collective capacity for deep innovation. I am also a volunteer in the Canberra and regional community to co-create sustainable system-wide solutions in energy, water, food, security, health, education and living a good life. I will continue to model, use and promote dialogue as a practice for gaining deeper insight into complex system challenges in diverse groups of people wanting to collaborate. |
Talulah MalcolmI am a social work student in my final year of study, I am constantly learning about how and who I am in my practice.
I am currently working for a non-for-profit disability organisation with embedded values that encompass co-design and inclusion in their full potential. I am an emerging Art of Hosting and Harvesting Conversations that Matter practitioner and have been in practice in my personal and professional life over the past five years. This work resonates with my core values and beliefs, and invites this question for me; What is the potential for meaningful work if more people were in practice? I strive to bring authenticity, curiosity and passion to all aspects of my life. I also acknowledge that learning occurs from stepping into the unknown. |
Michael HollingworthI am a facilitator and business coach who works with

I have completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) trainer’s program and have International Coach Federation accreditation. I am also a certified U-ACT Professional Recovery Coach. I combine my study and practice of mindfulness traditions with research in psychology and neuroscience using these tools to build community leadership especially in areas such as disability support, palliative care and men’s training and development circles. |
Jessica LeckI am your Regional Landcare Coordinator for the Mid Coast region of NSW. This role allows me to combine my passions of conservation and community, harnessing the power of one to aid the other.
I am lucky enough to witness the impact a well resourced, connected and passionate community can achieve regularly and hope that by sharing these stories, I can convince others of their own capacity. |
